Then she was adopted to Kenneth Taylor an American expat and his wife Eden. Poarch claimed that she was employed on her family's farm for 10 years as well as doing chores. She is the older of two older sisters who were adopted and also has a younger brother Bryner. She moved with her family into Texas, United States when she was 13 years old.
