Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was the American and British sitar artist. She is also the very first and youngest female to receive an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is a rising star in Indian sitar. She is the student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. During her first years she split her time between London New Delhi. When she was 13, she gave her first show on stage in New Delhi. Then she relocated to Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha was only 17 years old, has had an extremely successful recording and performing career. Her father was with her in many performances for many years. The year 1998 saw her released Anourag as her first solo record. The Grammy-nominated Live at Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. She's performed in all major venues around the globe. Anoushka shankar is an English born singer who travelled her early years between London, Delhi and California. At the age of 9, she started studying the piano with her father. Her first performance with the sitar came in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi, four years after.
